TVS Jupiter crosses 9 million

Jupiter has now crossed the sales mark of 90 lakh in the domestic market. Since its launch in September 2013, it has sold over 90,10,180 units in India. Additionally, around 1.54 lakh units have been exported to multiple markets. Hence, the scooter has built a strong presence both domestically and internationally.

Strong contribution to TVS scooter sales

Jupiter has played a major role in the evolution of TVS scooters over the years. Of the total scooter sales of 14.40 million units since FY2014, Jupiter alone contributes over 9 million units. Hence, it holds a strong share of over 62 percent in the total scooter sales.

Its share in total scooter sales further increased to 64 percent in FY 2026. Additionally, TVS recorded sales of 2.30 million scooters during the same period. Therefore, Jupiter remains the main contributor to the company’s strong market performance.

113cc and 125cc variants support growth

Jupiter is available in two variants, which are 113cc and 125cc engines, to meet different customer demands. The 113cc variant offers adequate power delivery with fuel economy for city commuting. It is capable of delivering a power output of up to 7.91 bhp with a maximum speed of 82 km/h.

The second version which was released in 2021 offers better power delivery with additional functionalities. It produces a power output of 8.04 bhp and can deliver a top speed of 95 km/h. Also, its riding distance can reach 240 to 275 km.

Market conditions and competition

Jupiter continues to hold the second position in the Indian scooter market. It remains a close competitor to the Honda Activa, which is the leader in the segment. However, Jupiter’s steady growth has helped TVS increase its market share over time.

Future outlook for Jupiter

Current sales trends suggest that Jupiter may reach the 10 million milestone soon. At the current pace, the next million sales could be achieved within eight months. Hence, the scooter is likely to cross the Rs 1 crore mark before the end of 2026.

This consistent growth reflects strong buyer demand across sectors. Furthermore, the combination of performance, mileage and features continues to attract a wide range of users in India.
