Buy it for just Rs 49,000

The new TVS Orbiter V1 electric scooter is now on sale in India. Priced at Rs 84,500 (ex-showroom, Delhi, including e-Drive subsidy), it becomes the most affordable electric offering in TVS Motor Company’s lineup. The scooter is also available with BaaS (Battery-as-a-Service) scheme, under which customers can buy it for as low as Rs 49,000 while paying a monthly subscription for the battery. The Orbiter V2 is about Rs 15,000 more affordable than the Orbiter V2.

BaaS plan explained

The BaaS (Battery-as-a-Service) option allows buyers to pay a monthly battery subscription, starting at Rs 862 per month. Customers can choose payment plans in 24, 36 and 60 months. One of the key features is that TVS doesn’t impose any distance limits, no matter which plan you go with. Additionally, if the TVS Orbiter V1 is purchased through the BaaS scheme, buyers will benefit from a 5 year/70,000 km extended warranty package.

Battery, range and charging time

Talking about the powertrain, the TVS Orbiter V1 uses a 1.8kWh battery pack, which offers an estimated IDC range of 86 km. The battery pack can be charged from 0 to 80 percent in 2 hours 20 minutes. It has two riding modes – Eco and Power.

The overall design and styling of the Orbiter V1 is exactly similar to the TVS Orbiter V2. The electric scooter gets features like turn-by-turn navigation, a mobile app, OTA (over-the-air) updates and an LCD cluster.

On the safety front, the e-scooter offers parking assist, hill hold assist and cruise control with multiple safety alerts. The V1 rides on 14-inch front and 12-inch rear wheels. Similar to the V2, the TVS Orbiter V1 has an 845 mm long flat seat, and offers 34-litres of underseat storage. It is available in two color options – Stellar Silver and Martian Copper.
