Zelio plans 39,000 sq ft EV PL

Zelio E-Mobility is planning a new manufacturing facility in Coimbatore to expand its EV operations in southern India. The upcoming plant will cover approximately 39,000 square feet and will handle electric scooter assembly, warehousing and logistics activities. The company will begin facility setup in April 2026, while commercial operations may begin by July 2026.
Managing Director Kunal Arya said that there remains strong demand for electric mobility in the southern market. Therefore, the new plant will improve supply chain efficiency and speed up deliveries. Additionally, the facility will support the company’s growing dealer network in the southern states.
Fourth production hub expands national manufacturing network
Coimbatore unit will become the fourth manufacturing facility Zelio In India. The company already operates major production plants in Haryana and Odisha. One facility operates in Ladwa, Haryana, spread over approximately 2,63,450 sq ft and serving the northern markets. Another unit operates at Patan, Haryana, with a production area of approximately 2,52,301 sq. ft.
Additionally, Zelio operates a manufacturing and assembly unit in Cuttack spread over approximately 30,500 sq. ft. These facilities support production, assembly and regional distribution in different parts of India. However, the new Coimbatore plant will bring manufacturing closer to southern markets and reduce logistics costs.
EV portfolio and dealer network continues to grow
Zelio produces electric two-wheelers under the Zelio brand and electric three-wheelers under the Tanga name. Its electric scooter The lineup includes models like X Men, Gracie, eva, logicsAnd high-speed mystery.
Meanwhile, the Tanga lineup includes electric rickshaw models like Butterfly and Fine for passenger mobility and last-mile transportation. The company currently operates over 350 dealer outlets in over 20 states and union territories.
Expansion after successful IPO
This expansion comes after the company’s public listing in 2025. Zelio raised around Rs 78.34 crore through its initial public offering. The company’s shares are listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange SME platform at Rs 154.90, representing a premium over the issue price.
