Women’s night rally in Gurugram
Hero MotoCorp recently organized a women’s night rally in Gurugram as part of its ongoing Ride Safe India road safety campaign. The event was organized in partnership with Haryana Police and Raahgiri Foundation. The aim of the rally was to promote safe riding habits and encourage more women to participate in motorcycling.
The rally was organized just before International Women’s Day, making the event all the more meaningful. Furthermore, the initiative highlighted the importance of equal participation for women in safe streets and public spaces.
150 women riders participated in the night rally
Around 150 women riders participated in the rally and covered a distance of 9 km on the major roads of Gurugram during the late evening. The event helped highlight an important message that roads should be safe and accessible for all.
Senior officials flagged off the rally. These include Deputy Commissioner of Police Arpit Jain, Deputy Commissioner of Traffic Police Rajesh Mohan and Sanjay Bhan, Vice President of Global Business and Product Planning at Hero MotoCorp. Additionally, several women police officers also joined the ride, further strengthening the message of safety and inclusivity.
Launched in January 2026 during the National Road Safety Month, Ride Safe India is a three-month campaign built on the 4Es of road safety—Education, Engineering, Enforcement Emergency Care—defined by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. The program includes training sessions, awareness campaigns, school activations and citizen-led activities aimed at promoting safe riding.
Women traffic officers honored for their contribution
As part of the initiative, 14 women traffic police officers were honored for their work in road safety and traffic management. Gurugram Police Deputy Commissioner of Police Arpit Jain said, “Initiatives like Ride Safe India go far beyond road safety awareness, they send a decisive message every hour that our roads belong to every citizen. We are proud to stand with Hero MotoCorp in creating a safer, more inclusive public space.”
Hero MotoCorp said the women’s night rally is part of its larger effort to bring women to the center of the road safety conversation and encourage wider public participation.
