Next-gen Suzuki Gixxer 150 and
Suzuki It appears that Gixxer is ready to refresh the series as the competition in this segment continues to increase. This update is expected to include both 150cc and 250cc versions sold in India. A new base structure could help improve ride quality, balance and feature placement. However, Suzuki is unlikely to move away from the known sporty riding nature of the Gixxer. Therefore, the focus will be on meaningful updates rather than full reinstallations.
Fresh design inspired by larger Suzuki motorcycles
It is expected to feature sharp styling inspired by the new Gixxer SF model Suzuki GSX-8R. At the same time, the naked Gixxer edition may borrow design cues from gsx-8s. Both engine options are likely to have similar body panels and proportions. However, Suzuki can differentiate them through paint scheme and alloy wheel design. This design strategy can help maintain a uniform look across the updated range.
Expected Hardware and Feature Improvements
The current Gixxer models are often criticized for their stiff suspension setup. Hence, Suzuki is expected to revise the suspension tuning for better ride comfort. A USD front fork may be introduced to improve handling and road feedback. Additionally, braking performance may improve with stronger components like switchable dual channel ABS and better response. Additionally, the bright headlights are expected to increase the visibility of the ride at night.
The engines are likely to continue with additional technology
Suzuki is expected to carry forward the existing engines for both the capacity options. However, these engines may get new technology to improve the ride experience. Features like ride by wire throttle and riding modes could potentially be added. Slipper clutch may also be available in some variants for easy downshifts. Higher trims may feature TFT displays, making the bikes look more modern.
Price increase and launch timeline
The expected price of the new Gixxer series could be slightly higher than the prices of the current model. Additionally, prices may increase by Rs 7,000 to Rs 10,000 depending on the model. Nonetheless, the Gixxer SF 150 will likely continue to serve as India’s most affordable offering in the two-wheeler market. The next generation model of Suzuki Gixxer bike is expected to hit the market in late 2026 or early 2027.
