The 390 Adventure R continues with a 399cc single-cylinder engine that produces around 44-46bhp and 39Nm of torque. It comes with a six-speed gearbox and a bi-directional quickshifter. Apart from this, the electronics and feature list remains the same as the regular Adventure.
The biggest feature of KTM 390 Adventure R is its upgraded suspension. It gets high-spec WP Apex suspension with 230 mm of travel at both the front and rear. In comparison, the standard model offers slightly less travel. This improvement should provide better shock absorption and stability on broken roads and trails.
However, the extra suspension travel also increases the overall height of the bike. Seat height is now 870 mm, and ground clearance has increased to 272 mm. This makes the bike taller, but it also underlines its strong off-road focus. Taller riders will probably find it more comfortable, while shorter riders will take some getting used to.
Visually, the Adventure R stands out with its orange trellis frame and fresh graphics. Apart from these details, the bodywork remains the same as the standard model. The bike has been introduced in a single white and orange color scheme.
