Honda ADV160 Maxi-Scooter Pat

Honda has patented the ADV160 maxi-scooter in India. This move shows that the company is exploring new and premium scooter options for the market. Earlier, Honda had also patented the Airblade Maxi scooter. Although the patent does not confirm any launch, it still raises hopes that Honda might bring something different to the buyers.

Built for more than just city riding

Honda ADV160 comes with a bold and tough look. Unlike regular scooters, it has a taller stance and stronger body panels. Furthermore, its design focuses on handling rough roads with ease. This makes it a good choice for both city rides and long trips.

Engine and performance

it honda scooter Uses a 157cc liquid-cooled engine. It produces around 16PS of power and 14.7Nm of torque. As a result, the scooter offers smooth performance in the city and enough power for the highways. Moreover, this balance makes it useful for daily commute as well as touring.

Wheels, Suspension and Braking

The scooter comes with a 14-inch front wheel and 13-inch rear wheel. Additionally, it comes with wide tyres, which provide better grip on rough roads. The suspension setup includes telescopic forks at the front and twin rear shock absorbers from Showa. Hence, riders can expect a comfortable ride.

For braking, it uses 240mm front disc brake and 130mm rear drum brake with single channel ABS. Therefore, riders can expect safe and controlled braking. The seat height of the ADV160 is 780 mm, making it comfortable for many riders.

With a weight of 133 kg, it is about 9 kg lighter than hero zoom 160So it may seem easier in traffic. However, it is about 7 kg heavier than that Yamaha Aerox 155.

Features and convenience

The ADV160 offers LED lights and a TFT console. It also supports smartphone connectivity for navigation and alerts. Additionally, it includes keyless ignition and 27 liters of underseat storage space.

Will it launch in India?

The maxi-scooter segment in India is still small. However, the ADV160 could fit in well among the existing options. Perhaps Honda can launch it if demand increases. Still, for now, the patent only shows that the company is carefully studying the market.
