Hero MotoCorp plans to increase scooter production due to the continuously increasing demand in various Indian markets. Currently, the company records monthly scooter sales of around 60,000 units across its product range. However, the company now expects volumes to reach close to one lakh units in the coming months.

The expansion plan primarily focuses on popular scooter models including the Destiny and Zoom. Therefore, Hero MotoCorp has recently increased the Destiny production capacity by about 50 percent.

Hero MotoCorp will build a new parts center

Apart from vehicle production, Hero MotoCorp will also strengthen its parts and accessories operations. The company has committed over Rs 700 crore for a new global parts center in South India.

The new facility will support future business growth and improve supply operations to various markets. Additionally, the company expects the new center to support the growing demand for genuine parts and accessories.

“Harshvardhan Chitale: “We are also making significant investments in building a second parts centre, which will help in further expansion of our parts and accessories business. We have invested over Rs 700 crore in building a global parts center in the south of India.”

The company is monitoring market demand

Hero MotoCorp said demand across many product categories remained stable in April and early May. However, the company continues to monitor global developments related to the Middle East conflict.

The company had expected high single-digit industry growth through FY2027 before recent geopolitical tensions emerged. Therefore, Hero MotoCorp believes that future market conditions will depend on how the situation develops further.
