Mohal Lalbhai, Founder and CEO of Matter Motor, explained clearly about the company’s next step. Lalbhai said, “The 150 cc equivalent model on the same platform is going to be our next immediate product. This will be followed by the 125 cc equivalent and the performance version. This will then be combined with multiple different form factors on the same platform and architecture.”
He further added, “And finally, once we are done with our entire motorcycle portfolio, then we will use the same concept of AI-defined vehicles and see how we bring in scooters. This is what our next 3-4 year roadmap looks like.”

Competition increases in electric motorcycle segment

There is increasing activity from new and existing players in India’s electric motorcycle market. Ola Electric, Revolt and UltraViolet already have products in this segment. However, more entries are expected soon. Ather Energy is developing a new electric motorcycle platform called Zenith. Additionally, legacy manufacturers like Royal Enfield, through its Flying Flea brand, and Hero MotoCorp, in partnership with Zero Motorcycles, are preparing for electric motorcycle launches.
