Ather scooters get voice comma

ather energy has completed the rollout of its new voice command feature to eligible scooter owners. The update was first announced anther Community Day 2025 under the Etherstack 7 platform. Riders can now control multiple functions of the scooter through natural voice commands while riding. Additionally, the feature works with Ather’s Halo helmet and other Bluetooth headsets. The company has also shared plans to introduce two-way communication features in a future software update.

Voice feature now available for eligible Ather scooters

Ather Energy CEO Tarun Mehta Confirmed that the Voice on Ather feature has reached all Gen 3 and newer scooters. The update is being distributed via over-the-air software update to all supported models. However, this feature is currently available only on select variants of the company’s electric scooter lineup.

Riders can control multiple functions through voice commands

The new system allows riders to interact with their scooters using everyday conversational language. Therefore, users no longer need to depend on fixed commands for various tasks.

Riders can request navigation details, check charging locations and view arrival estimates. In addition, vehicle settings can also be adjusted through simple verbal instructions. Commands to change traction control mode and adjust display brightness are supported.

The feature also handles calls, notifications and media controls while riding. Hence, riders can access important functions without manually operating the touchscreen again and again.

Works with Halo helmets and Bluetooth headsets

Ather has designed the system to work with a variety of audio devices. The feature works with the company’s Halo smart helmet and standard Bluetooth headsets.

Therefore, users with third-party communication systems can access the same voice features. Devices from brands offering Bluetooth intercom support can also be connected.

The company is preparing for two-way voice interaction

Ather has also outlined the next phase of development of this technology. Additionally, future updates will allow the scooters to deliver information directly to riders.

Planned features include pothole warning, ParkSafe updates and tire pressure notifications. Therefore, riders will receive important vehicle information through voice-based communication during the journey.
