The biggest highlight is the new parallel twin-cylinder engine. If reports are to be believed, engine displacement may be around 490cc. However, KTM has not confirmed the exact capacity yet.
This new motor can produce around 60 bhp to 65 bhp. As a result, the upcoming Adventure may offer stronger highway performance than the current single-cylinder model. Additionally, the engine can provide better power delivery during long distance rides.
Unlike KTM’s 390 range, this motorcycle uses a conventional side-mounted exhaust system. The existing 390 motorcycles use an underbelly exhaust setup instead.
KTM can make many motorcycles on this new platform. Expected models include the 490 Duke, 490 RC and probably also Enduro and SMC variants. This strategy could help KTM strengthen its middleweight lineup globally.
However, reports indicate that the platform may remain limited to international markets. India may get a separate twin-cylinder lineup under 500cc in the future. The final production model may arrive in 2027 with updated styling, improved electronics and stronger touring capability. Until then, KTM fans can expect more advanced test mules in the coming months.
