2026 Suzuki V-Strom 250 Launch

Suzuki has launched the 2026 V-Strom 250 in the international markets. Although the name of this motorcycle is similar to the V-Strom 250 SX sold in India, the two bikes are quite different in many ways. From design and engine setup to features and riding purpose, Suzuki has developed these motorcycles for different types of riders.

While the international-spec V-Strom 250 is primarily focused on long-distance road trips, the Indian V-Strom 250 SX Offers a blend of touring capability and mild off-road performance. Therefore, buyers should not consider these as identical motorcycles.

International model focuses more on touring

foreign specialty Suzuki V-Strom The 250 is larger and heavier than the Indian version. It comes with a 17.5-litre fuel tank, which can help riders cover long distances between fuel stops. Furthermore, the motorcycle gets a spacious single-piece seat, a large windscreen and a rear luggage rack as standard.

Suzuki also offers several touring accessories for international models. These include side panniers, a top box, knuckle guards and a center stand. As a result, the motorcycle appears to be more suitable for long highway trips.

The Indian model offers a more modern look

The Indian-spec V-Strom 250 SX follows a different approach. It weighs 167 kg, which is 21 kg lighter than the international model. Apart from this, it gets split-seat setup, LED lighting, slim body panel and small windscreen.

The crossover model uses round halogen headlamps and styling that resembles the older V-Strom motorcycles. However, the Indian bike looks more modern and sporty thanks to its sharp design elements.

Both the motorcycles have different engines

The biggest difference is at the bottom of the fuel tank. The international V-Strom 250 uses a 248cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine. This motor produces 24 PS power and 22 Nm torque. Furthermore, Suzuki has paired it with a 6-speed gearbox. between travel-centric suzuki bikeThis engine setup aims to provide smooth and refined performance on long journeys.

The Indian V-Strom 250SX, on the other hand, uses a 249 cc oil-cooled single-cylinder engine from the Gixxer 250. It produces 26.5 PS and 22.3 Nm of torque, which is slightly more than the international model.

Various ride characteristics

The parallel-twin engine of the exotic bike can provide better performance during long rides. However, the lighter weight and stronger power output of the Indian model may make it feel more responsive in everyday riding situations.

Suspension and wheels suitable for different roads

The international-spec motorcycle rides on 17-inch wheels at both ends and uses road-centric tyres. It also has a ground clearance of 160 mm and a seat height of 800 mm. Therefore, it is suitable for riders who mainly travel on paved roads.

Meanwhile, the Indian V-Strom 250 SX gets a 19-inch front wheel, dual-purpose tires and 205 mm of ground clearance. Additionally, its tall stance helps it handle rough roads and mild trails more comfortably.

Indian model gets more features

The international V-Strom 250 comes with a negative LCD display, dual-channel ABS and a DC power socket. However, it does not offer smartphone connectivity.

The Indian version offers a more feature-rich package. It gets Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, a USB charging port and dual-channel ABS as standard. As a result, riders enjoy a more connected and convenient experience.

Which V-Strom makes more sense?

The international-spec V-Strom 250 offers a refined parallel-twin engine and better touring equipment. However, it costs around Rs. Converted to Indian currency, it costs Rs 4 lakh, which is almost double the price of the V-Strom 250 SX.

The Indian V-Strom 250 SX offers a strong balance of performance, features and practicality. Furthermore, its ability to handle highways as well as rough roads makes it a versatile motorcycle for Indian conditions. Perhaps future updates could bring a larger fuel tank, additional rider aids and better touring equipment to make it even more capable.
